Marina joined AlexanderDorrington in May 2021.   She is currently on maternity leave, returning mid 2024.

She enjoys the challenge of practising law and finds assisting clients to achieve their goals most rewarding. She loves working with her clients and building strong enduring relationships.

Her career began at Air New Zealand as an intern in the legal team. She then went on to work in private practice. Firstly as part of Keegan Alexander’s property team, and then for Simpson Grierson, where she specialised in commercial property.

Marina’s experience in property law includes residential and commercial work, drafting and advising on agreements, due diligence, settlements, drafting and reviewing leases and other lease-related work.

Her expertise also includes trust administration, trust creation and winding up, drafting and advising on enduring powers of attorney, preparing wills and Estate work.

Recent Projects

Marina has completed many high value acquisitions and sales, and is able to assist through the pre-contract, due diligence phase and through to settlement. Examples of recent work include:

  • Sale and purchase of residential properties, commercial properties and developments, including industrial, retail and office;
  • Acting for high net worth individuals in their commercial and property matters;
  • Leasing work for many landlord clients with significant property portfolios and also reviewing leases and advising tenants on leasing issues which arise;
  • Establishing trusts (family and investment) and transfer of assets and arranging distributions from a trust;
  • Winding up trusts;
  • Applying for probate and letters of administration in the High Court;
  • Advising trustees of their obligations under the new Trusts Act 2019;
  • Will drafting; and
  • Preparing enduring powers of attorney in relation to Property and in relation to Personal Care & Welfare.
